L HEFE
Like most e30’s this car was no different. It was purchased as a father & son project in southern california. The original idea was to enjoy the car with simple modifications and repairs. The car was brought in for an inspection to see what could be done to fix the oil leaks and improve the car. I met up with Dan after the inspection and told him: “it will be easier for me to tell you what’s not leaking then what is” We had about 2 pages of notes from the inspection and it was clear to see this wasn’t going to be a simple gasket or seal replacement. The agreement was made to pull the motor and do a full rebuild.
And we didn’t stop there. We replaced the rear subframe mounts, trailing arm bushings. Welded on camber & caster kit. Installed a set of our Performance Street Coilovers. The engine was thoroughly gone through & upgraded. It’s at this time that Dan decided to have the car fully repainted. The car went to a local Paint shop and received a nice color change. Space Grey came out amazing. It totally transformed the car from a standard black to something that looks custom.
The car was coming together nicely. The interior was not left to chance. Starting with our CAtuned headliner. Acme Tops & tunes doing the rest of the work. With custom thick stitching and black Vinyl coverings. The rear M3 seat was customized to fit just perfect. New carpet inside set things off just perfectly. They also did a custom stereo setup with hidden amp and all. The cluster was customized via our friends at Bavarian Restoration. Custom shift boot & knobs went on (Get your’s here). We also installed a Suede dash cap to add yet another custom touch to the interior (the dash underneath was replaced and is crack free).
After the interior was put together. Landon wanted something rare and special to take this car a step farther. We found a glass moonroof in storage and it was then installed in the car. It definitely found the right home on this car.
The wheels while being BBS RS needed some attention and Dan & Landon turned to Ewheel works to turn them around and make them one of a kind while still looking classic. It’s at this time that we decided to upgrade the car to Bags. We went with Airlift Performance along with a hidden trunk setup.
The wheels came in and they are marvelous. Finished off in 80’s Gold
